SAIM develops projects regarding cathodic protection, from the preliminary survey to the final installation of the plant.

SAIM implements:

• Preliminary surveys on the electric condition of the ground with tests directed towards the planning of cathodic feeding systems;

• Projects, specific, definition of the materials for cathodic feeding plants, applied current or with sacrificial anodes;

• Cathodic feeding plants, completely telecontrolled, protection devices against over voltage, alarm systems, etc., operating on horizontal or vertical anodic dissipator;

• Management of cathodic protection systems for oil pipelines, gas pipelines, aqueducts etc. (over 3000 km.) through measurement campaigns utilizing continuous track recording instruments equipped with microprocessor and indicators and final edit of technical specifications accompanied by diagrams and indication for suggested works;

• Management of cathodic protection systems of gas grids (over 2000 km.) in conformity with administrative decision 236/00;

• Research for leaks in the passive coating of the pipelines through execution of transversal gradients;

• Close interval potential surveys;

• Rregistration of potentials, currents, plant maintenance and control:

• Pipeline laying assistance with control of passive coating and final electric measurement testing;

• Management of duties with public offices, particularly the execution of six-monthly reports for F.S. and plant reports for A.S.L. and A.P.C.E.;

• Carrying out of formalities to obtain the necessary authorizations for the implementation of plants, initialed by registered and qualified technicians ;

• Plant supplies, equipment, accessories, etc. ;

• Planning consultancy, management, maintenance, repair and control of underground pipelines.
